2008 PIP Festival Gallery Guide

1. EXHIBITION TERMS & CONDITIONS
The Executive Committee of 2008 PIP Festival constitutes and implements the regulations, and reserves the right to amend and interpret the regulations. All applicants and final participants are unconditionally constrained by the regulations.
The Executive Committee reserves the right to make and release other related regulations of 2008 PIP Festival.
2. VENUE AND DATES
Venue: PingYao, Shanxi, China
Dates: Sept.19-25, 2008
Installation: Sept.14-18.
De-installation: Sept.26-27.
3. EXHIBITORS & ARTWORKS
Exhibitors: Must be professional art galleries with fixed operational sites, showing artworks of represented artists as the main business operation.

4. APPLICATION AND ADMISSION
Application:
Exhibitor must submit completed 2008 PIP Festival Gallery Registration Form provided by the Executive Committee. The exhibitor should guarantee that all information in the application submitted to executive committee is true and accurate. The exhibitor must ensure artworks for exhibition are authentic. The executive committee reserves the right to revoke any accepted application if false information or works have been submitted in the application or if the applicant fails to comply with these regulations. In addition, exhibitor will indemnify and hold executive committee harmless from any loss and damage incurred or suffered by Executive Committee as a result of the exhibitor¡¯s breach of any of these regulations. The executive committee reserves the right to require complete details of a proposed exhibit and prohibit the exhibition of any object that does not meet the requirements.

Admission:
The Executive Committee and Academic Committee will review all applications, and shall be the final judge of all applications and may accept or reject applications in their independent and absolute discretion.
Confirmation:
The Executive Committee will send the 2008 PIP Festival Gallery Invitation Letter to the gallery before August 15, 2008.
5. SPACE ALLOCATION
The exhibition hall, with loft style, is located in PingYao Mian zhi chang (the Cotton Mill). The Executive Committee will offer about 30©O booth space charge-free for domestic and foreign galleries. Booth space will be allocated by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee will consider the area and booth quantity that an exhibitor is applying for as reference. The Executive Committee reserves the right to rearrange the booths and exhibition space as it sees ?, in its sole discretion.
6. COEXHIBITIORS PROHIBITED
No organization may sublet or otherwise share any booth either in whole or in part. Products other than those specifi?ed in the application form may not be exhibited at the booth. Similarly, artists not specifi?ed in the application form may not present their works at the booth. Moreover, an exhibitor shall not display their artworks in the public area.
7. BOOTH DESIGN
Any change in the booth design should be approved by the Executive Committee. And the application should be ahead of schedule.
8. EXHIBITION CATALOGUE
Each organization will be given free 2 pages in the catalogue which will consist of exhibitors¡¯ details and images. (The graphics resolution of the images should not be less than 300 dpi)
9. SECURITY
During the periods of installation, exhibition, and de-installation, exhibitors should be responsible for the artworks; while the executive committee will appoint safe-guards for the security after the exhibition closed.
To maintain security, once installation begins, nothing can be removed from the exhibition premises unless approved by the security pass provided by the executive committee, and this rule shall apply throughout the dismantling period. Exhibitors may bring additional artworks into the premises during the exhibition subject to the approval of Executive Committee.
All exhibitors must adhere to all fi?re, safety and security regulations in force by the exhibition authorities.
Organizations are liable to indemnify Executive Committee for all loss or damage suffered or incurred by third parties wholly or partly caused by the negligence of organizations, or the organizations¡¯ breach of these terms and force from time by the exhibition authorities.
10. INSURANCE AND SAFETY
Each organization should obtain full insurance coverage for damage or loss to artworks, properties and injuries to persons during the period of the exhibition. During the exhibition, organizations assume all risks related to participation in PIP. The Executive Committee is not liable to any organization for any direct, indirect or consequential damages or loss to persons or artworks arising from or connected with organization¡¯s participation in PIP, including any loss or damage due to failure or disruption of lighting and air-conditioning.

11. LEGAL EFFECT
These Regulations constitute the entire and final? agreement between 2008 PIP Festival Executive Committee and organizations, and shall be governed by the laws of the People¡¯s Republic of China.
12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Organizations shall guarantee that all works on display or for sale and all the provided documents shall not be in any violation of any third party¡¯s intellectual property rights. Organizations are liable to indemnify the Executive Committee for any and all loss or damage suffered or incurred by any copyright or other intellectual property violation.
13. FORCE MAJEURE
The Executive Committee is entitled upon the occurrence of acts of God or other events beyond the control of Executive Committee including, but not limited to ?earthquake, fire, flood, civil unrest, epidemic, economic or political unrest, or any other matter or cause beyond the control of the Executive Committee to cancel, postpone, or shorten the fair due to force major circumstance, and in such instance, organizations shall not be entitled to a refund of any payment made to Executive Committee nor to claim damages from Executive Committee.
14. RELATED SERVICES
The Executive Committee will offer the following services for free:
Executive Committee will appoint an official freight forwarder for the shipment from Beijing to Pingyao, and from Pingyao to Beijing. Communal storage space for artworks or any other materials will be provided in Pingyao.
Free transportation of one or two working staffs from Taiyuan Wuxu Airport to Pingyao will be provided.
15. VIP SEVICES:
VIP Lounge: coffee and tea provided
Bilingual Guides: helping the VIPs to know more about the exhibitions
Forums and seminars: Offering chances for communication

2. The gallery submits all the items of Exhibition List in 2008 PIP Festival Gallery¡¯s Guide before July 30, 2008.
3. The gallery uploads high resolution images before Aug.10, 2008.
4. The gallery install, exhibit and de-install the art works according to the schedules in 2008 PIP Festival Gallery¡¯s guide.
